Puffed Grains and Breakfast Cereals, should we eat them?

These are pretty scary experiments and I feel for those poor rats (may they rest in peace).
I only eat corn flakes once in a blue moon and I eat rice cakes when I don't have the time or all the ingredients to bake some GF/SCD bread.
I was aware that puffed/extruded cereals were unhealthy and somewhat toxic because the process and the stress caused to the grains is far from natural.
This article has inspired me to stop eating them all together...
I think I'm going to bake a coconut flour bread tonight...
